Puppy Care Sheet
We start by having our Mama dog in our home to whelp her puppies. After she
has her puppies we keep her and her babies with us in our home with our four
sons who also play and help take care of mama and her puppies until four
weeks to make sure they are healthy and well cared for by their mama and at
four weeks when they are strong enough we move them out to a large 16x20x6
safe kennel where they learn to play with each other and socialize with our
other dogs while being exposed to lots of different sounds, we then wean
them from their mama at five weeks and start feeding them food and water and
we start watching for their personality to determine if they are shy, loud,
quiet, feisty or even aggressive.
Food
The best food that we have found that works great for their skin, coat and
health, making sure they don't grow so fast so as to not damage their
growing ability, bones or hips is
Kirkland that you can only buy at Costco.
Potty Training
We recommend you crate train your puppy. It does take a lot of work on your
part for about two weeks. Every two hours you should take your puppy out to
the same area to teach your puppy where to go and pick a key word to say
during the time your dogs is going, such as "go potty" etc.. Your puppy
will learn the word eventually and realize that is what you want him/her to
do. At night you should keep the puppy in a crate. The pup will whimper
for a day or two but then will be ok with sleeping in the crate. This is
better than putting the puppy in bed with you because a young puppy can
easily fall or jump from your bed causing great harm to itself, even hip
problems. So until your puppy's bones are strong enough, don't let him up
on things that could cause him to jump or fall. Keep your puppy on the
ground.
Registering your puppy
1) When registering your puppy you will need to send in three photos,
one of each side and a front shot of face with your registration form
properly filled out with a $25 registration fee. ($50 if over nine
months). You can send them in at eight months registering your puppy at
what size the parents are or wait until 9 months if you believe the size to
be different than what the breeder has put down. A puppy will usually reach
close to full height by 6 months.
2) When measuring your puppy you measure from the top of the shoulder to
the ground. If under 13 inches it will be registered as a toy. If over 13
inches and up to 17 inches, it would be registered as a miniature.
3) When picking a name for your puppy, my kennel name goes first, then
you pick out the rest of your puppy's name (CelebrityWard's

Support for you and your dog
I am always here to support you and your new dog. Please call me or email
me if you have any concerns or questions. I would love to see pictures of
your puppy and hear from you every once in a while to see how your puppy is
doing. If at six months you would send me a picture I will add your puppy
and family to my past puppy page. If you are a new owner of one of my
wiggle butts down the road, it would be great to get some feed back on your
puppy and my kennel on my guest book
(link located below) if you feel I have done a good job taking care of your
puppy and your concerns.
